Welcome back to school, 7th Grade!  Until we return to our usual art room adventures, please log onto our Art Google Class Page daily for assignments. You will receive an invitation from me to join in your school email on September 8th.  On our Art Google Page will be a link to join our zoom meeting, where we will meet each day for class. Be sure to come on time, as important announcements and attendance happen at the very beginning of class. Parents, please feel free to email me with any questions via email at dmcdonald@nyackschools.org, I will be checking mail through the school days. Everyone,  stay safe and healthy and remember that while we are physically at home, our creative minds can go anywhere.

7th Graders will have art class everyday for the next two quarters, which will give us a good amount of time to delve into thoughtful and imaginative explorations together. All of the 7th Grade creative work will be driven by questions about the process, role and impact of art in our lives. Most importantly, this class is meant to be fun and challenge students to grow as artists. 

What will 7th Graders learn in art? Some big questions we will address:

How can artists communicate ideas? How does the context of art effect the message? How do images influence us? Through an investigation of these big ideas and more, we will analyze art, sketch, take photos, paint, conduct interviews, become street artists, construct 3D forms, exhibit our work, and more!
